Combine 2 shots taken from different heights by using a big crane
Because the budget for building the scaffolding set by the art department was limited, we had to do a lot in CG. In order to use the set as the top floor of the scaffolding and the ground floor, I suggested that we should shoot from one angle where the camera is close to the top floor of the set aiming down at the actors who are looking down supposedly from the very top floor of the tall scaffolding and another angle where the camera is way high up by the huge crane looking down at the whole environment of the construction as the ground floor element.
Shake the set to help stunt performance
This shot takes place when the wind was getting so strong that it shook the whole scaffolding and eventually destroyed some of the construction. They decided to actually shake the scaffolding set so that the actors/stunts could realistically perform maintaining their balance. I tracked the shaking set and multiplied the movement so that it looks more violently shaking.
In this shot, I supervised on set, keyed, composited, added dust smoke, scaffolding shaking, did texture, lighting, created 3D elements such as scaffolding, barns, etc. Because the budget for building the scaffolding set by the art department was limited, we had to do a lot in CG.
