I was the VFX Supervisor and Lead Artist for this project. I did 3D tracking, projection mapping, keyed blue screen, created graveyard objects and texture, and composited them.

The Hound of Heaven

This short film is about a girl who believes that she is fleeing death when she is actually running away from her only chance at life. Set to a surreal, nightmarish poem written in the nineteenth century by a homeless addict in London. In one scene of the movie, she comes out of the grave. During the shooting, they set up a small section of grass. The actress comes out from behind the grass pads. In this shot, the grass pad is supposed to be part of the ground of the whole cemetery. It seems as if her gravity is off, and she is walking vertically on her gravestone. However, when they shot this scene, the grass is set up vertically like curtains and the gravestone is set up right above the floor for her to walk. In order to make it look like the grass is the ground and she is walking vertically, her cardigan was attached to the grass so that it would be pulled toward the grass like it’s being pulled by gravity force.
